EMBLEMS OF RWANDA : CREATING A VISUAL STORYTELLING FOR A NATION
Emblems of Rwanda is an ongoing research project. For the past 6 years the project collectfrom Rwanda’s History. From the tales of Mashira to the former sacred trees, each emblem is a trip into the stories and tales of Rwanda.
By creating an etho-geo-graphic language, the emblems update the link between the country, the toponymy and the oral tradutions. It create a visual relationship between a place and the stories. Like hieroglyphs of the 21st century, the emblems combined traditional patterns and new pictograms in order to start a new viusal storytelling for the country.
So far more than 200 emblems have been designed.
